About The SAI
Overview:
The Constitution of the United Arab Emirates, issued in 1971, stipulated the establishment of a supreme audit institution at the federal level. In accordance with this constitutional provision, Federal Law No. (7) of 1976 was enacted, officially creating the State Audit Institution (SAI). This law ensured the SAI’s full independence from the executive authority in functional, structural, and financial aspects. The institution was mandated with external financial oversight across the country and was affiliated with the Federal National Council, which holds legislative authority in the UAE.
